Swagelok® Tube Fittings and Adapters
The two-ferrule, compression-grip, gaugeable Swagelok tube fitting delivers a consistent, leak-tight seal that is resistant to vibration fatigue, even in harsh environments. They are available in a variety of materials, shapes, and configurations which allow their use in pressures up to 11 000 psi (757 bar) and temperatures up to 1000°F (537°C). Swagelok tube fittings and adapters reduce the risk of dangerous leaks and costly system downtime while being easy to install, disassemble, and reassemble.
One of the advantages of the Swagelok tube fitting is the ease of installation which requires an effort significantly lower than most other tube, pipe, or weld fitting alternatives, reducing installer fatigue. It can be installed using standard tools and has multiple preswaging options for assembly flexibility, such as the gaugeable preswaging tool.
How to Use a Gaugeable Preswaging Tool
The Swagelok tube adapters are designed to complement the Swagelok tube fitting and allow for fitting-to-fitting connections between a Swagelok tube fitting and a variety of other end connection types. They can help eliminate difficult alignment issues and reduce the need to stock special elbows and tees. A similar installation procedure to that of the tube fitting is used, making Swagelok tube adapters easy to install.

The hinging and colleting action provides more direct tube contact/gripping support.
The burnishing/polishing action of the front ferrule creates concentrated zones of contact on the tube and on the body bevel for a stronger seal.
The colleting region better isolates stress risers at the tube grip to resist bending, deflection, and vibration.

The advanced-geometry, hinging-colleting back ferrule design is standard on all 1/4 to 1 in. and 6 to 25 mm Swagelok stainless steel tube fittings to help installers make more consistent, leak-tight tube connections. In these sizes, a patented case hardening process and patented recessed and contoured geometry provide unique engineering to the Swagelok back ferrule.
